automatic tests

install the following packages which are needed to run the automatic test suite:

• binutils
• gcc
• gettext
• glibc-devel
• make
• yacc
• xdevel
• glibc-i18ndata

all the above packages are available on the suse linux 8.0 professional cd-set. after installing them, please have a look at

download the ``test suite for amendment 2'' and run the test suite according to the instructions on that page.
