interactive tests
install the following packages which are needed to run the interactive tests:
- mozilla
- mlterm
- fribidi
- orbit
- gnome-libs
- canna
- cannadic
- kinput2
- ami
- amidic
- libtabe
- xcin
- ifntchia
except from ifntchia, all the above packages are available on the suse linux 8.1 professional cd-set.
if you did the installation in japanese, canna, cannadic, and kinput2 have already been installed.
ifntchia was omitted from the suse linux 8.1 cds because of lack of space, but you can get it from the ftp version of suse linux 8.1:
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/8.1/suse/noarch/ifntchia-1.2-426.noarch.rpm
after installing the above packages, please have a look at
and try the interactive tests described there.
please check the waiver list at
all tests not mentioned there should pass now.
for the ``vi'' and ``general text editor'' tests, please use vi (which is vim 6.1 on suse linux 8.1).
for the ``terminal emulator'' tests please use
mlterm -geometry 80x25
for the ``internet browser'' and ``mail user agent'' tests please use mozilla.
for information on how to use the input methods kinput2/canna for japanese, ami for korean and xcin for chinese, please have a look at sections 6.1, 6.1.3, 6.1.6, and 6.1.7.
