Review: Fedora 7
Linux.com: "Fedora 7 was released last week, a little bit behind schedule, with a spate of new features, updates, and live CD installable "spins" of Fedora in KDE and GNOME flavors. I found a lot of good in this release, but a bug in the FireWire stack that attacked my external backup drive made this release just a little shy of perfect."
Lab uses Linux supercomputer to battle radioactive plume
SearchDataCenter: "In 2003, PNNL purchased its existing 120-rack supercomputer from HP for around $22 million. The system is made up of 1,000 dual Itanium HP-RX 2600 servers. The servers come in two configurations: fat node and thin node, where fat nodes have more disk. The grid computing-based system runs a Linux variant provided by HP."
Perl Basics In Pictures

Scripting Second Life with Rational App Developer
IBM Developerworks: "The virtual world of Second Life is special in that much of it is made up of content created (and owned) by users. Not only can you create lush 3-D objects (and sell them for the equivalent of real money!), but you can also create both simple and complex scripts to control their behavior and appearance. This tutorial explains the basics (and not so basics) behind Second Life scripts and shows you how to ease development by using RationalŽ Application Developer as you build a small game users can carry around and play." free registration required
